HERNDON, VA - The National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), the global trade association representing the concrete masonry and hardscape industry, announces new membership categories for segmental retaining wall (SRW) contractor and installers. The proliferation of SRW systems, with their superior design flexibility and enhanced aesthetics, has spurred incredible growth in the number of SRW contractors-the companies that specialize in the use, design, and installation of SRWs. These companies represent the industry's fastest growing market segment, with more than 10,000 SRW contractors and 50,000 SRW installers in the United States and Canada.
The NCMA provides it members with programs that provide: Networking opportunities with their materials suppliers, business partners, and peers; Professional certification; Education and training; Information; Technical resources; Publications; Design manuals and software; and, Industry events, conventions and trade shows. During Icon Expo 2009-the concrete masonry and hardscape industry's largest trade show which will be held February 25-27 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis-there will be a special SRW pavilion within the exhibit floor, as well as expanded education sessions specifically for SRW contractors and installers.
