Terex Corp.

Redmond, WA - Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of the Terex Corporation, recently announced it has acquired assets of a refurbishment facility owned by United Rentals in Modesto, CA. This acquisition is integral to the company's strategy of continuing growth and delivering value-added services for customers. The facility will cater to all customers with refurbishment needs of Genie aerial equipment, and at a later date, Terex equipment as well.

"Our customers are increasingly expressing a need to refurbish assets. This refurbishment center in Modesto will establish us in close proximity to significant installed bases for units in California, Nevada, Oregon and Arizona," said Tim Ford, President, Terex AWP. "We are pleased to be able to provide additional value to our customers by offering them solutions that enhance value through their entire product lifecycle."

The Modesto refurbishment center has been in business for 10 years, primarily refurbishing United Rentals' aerial fleet. Along with the well-established facility, Terex AWP will employ the 32 experienced team members. Branch Manager John McPhedran will report directly to Siva Balakrishnan, vice president and general manager of Global Services, Terex AWP. "I’m looking forward to working with the team in Modesto," said Balakrishnan. "They bring years of expertise and ability and will expand important services to our customers in the West."
