May 7--Fronted by a long stretch of high-flying flags, Terex Roadbuilding sits in full view of traffic streaming along Interstate 40 and is just a few moments away from a busy truck stop intersection on Morgan Road in west Oklahoma City.
Yet the heavy equipment company maintains a low profile. And for those unaware of its presence, the name might be misleading, marketing director Larry Jack said. "We don't build roads; we build the products that build the roads."
And thanks to a booming South American market, Terex is enjoying a growth spurt that needs more workers to keep up with an overseas demand.
Terex manufactures and distributes asphalt plants, asphalt pavers, concrete plants and pavers, mixer trucks and landfill compactors. Asphalt roads and concrete roads represent two different industries with different needs and, "we're the only manufacturer that makes both products," Jack said.
