Remodeling company Curb Appeal Renovations won three awards from the Texas Association of Builders this month, the only Tarrant County business to bring home an award.

Curb Appeal won for Best Bathroom Renovation under $25,000, Best Addition under $100,000 and Best Web Site for a Remodeler at the awards ceremony Oct. 15.

There were about 450 entries for 87 Star Awards presented as part of the Sunbelt Builders Show. There were six judges from across the country that judged the entries, said Bill Childs, spokesman for the Texas Association of Homebuilders.

"They're a pretty diverse group that know about construction and design," he said.

Rob Mathews started Curb Appeal in 1995 and has 20 years' construction experience. He is president of the Fort Worth chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. His wife, Robin Burrill, who does the interior design work, is on the Fort Worth Builders Association Remodelers Council. They have six employees and a cabinet shop.

The bathroom renovation was on a Colleyville home that needed a new shower, Burrill said. While replacing the shower, the owners also replaced the floor tiling and the cabinetry, she said.
