Construction workers found a second noose in one of the buildings at the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee work site on Cameron Hill, officials said Thursday.
The first noose was found Aug. 7, prompting an investigation by the FBI.
Mary Thompson, a spokeswoman for BlueCross, said another noose was found Thursday. FBI agents were at the Cameron Hill site Thursday, she said.
FBI Special Agent Ed Galloway, supervisory senior resident agent for the FBI's Chattanooga field office, said he had no additional comments about the second noose or the investigation, aside from saying that it is ongoing.
An official with Skanska, the construction site's general contractor, said the noose was made of plastic binding tape.
