In early March 2009, ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling, the Geo-Institute of ASCE, and the Pile Driving Contractors Association will be conducting an international foundation engineering and construction conference that will include the largest foundation equipment and services exhibition ever held.
Known as, International Foundation Congress and Equipment Expo 2009 (IFCEE09); this mega-event will be held March 15-19, 2009, at the Buena Vista Resort Hotel in Orlando, FL. Conference Chairman, Mohamed Hussein, GRL Engineers, Inc., Orlando, FL, reports that the program will feature 42 ninety-minute technical sessions, seven pre-conference Short Courses, the prestigious Peck and Terzaghi Lectures, and a Geo-Project Competition. In addition to the design engineering oriented presentations, the program will include five full sessions devoted to construction related topics such as Project Management, Contracts, Safety Director Training, Equipment Maintenance, and Hydraulics. The audience will be comprised of a mix of consulting engineers, specialty subcontractor, general contractors, state DOT representatives, and academicians. The ADSC, G-I, and the PDCA will be conducting their respective Annual Meetings, and presenting their individual annual awards. Fifteen leading Cooperating Organizations from throughout the world have joined as official supporters of the conference including organizations from China and Russia, as well as virtually every foundation engineering and construction association in the US.
A Call for Papers was announced in February 2008. Proceedings Executive Editor, Magued Iskander, Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute, anticipates receiving over 300 submittals. Jan Hall, the Event Manager of the equipment EXPO, expects over 150 outdoor and indoor exhibitors, which will include all of the world's major deep foundation and shoring equipment manufacturers and distributor. A similar conference jointly sponsored by the ADSC and the G-I held in 2004 was completely sold out.
