James E. Weeks Elected 2009 NAPA Chairman


National Asphalt Pavement Association

LANHAM, MD - James E. Weeks, vice president, Colas, Inc., Ohio, has been elected Chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) for 2009. Mr. Weeks was installed in office during NAPA's 54th Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Other national officers serving with Mr. Weeks for 2009 are Blaine M. Johnson, Midwest Asphalt Corp., Hopkins, MN, First Vice Chairman; Kim W. Snyder, Eastern Industries Inc., Center Valley, PA, Second Vice Chairman; Kurt Bechthold, Payne & Dolan Inc., Waukesha, WI, Third Vice Chairman; John J. Keating, Oldcastle Materials Group - East, Leominster, MA, Secretary; and Larry H. Lemon, Haskell Lemon Construction Co., Oklahoma City, Treasurer.

Mr. Weeks has served on the NAPA Executive Committee since 2002. His NAPA activities also include serving as a member of the NAPA Research & Education foundation (NAPAREF) Board of Trustees, Committee for Asphalt Research and Technology (CART) and the Legislative Committee. He has served on numerous other NAPA committees and task forces.

Mr. Weeks received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1973.

Mr. Weeks is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association. He is a past board member of the Ohio Contractors Association and Flexible Pavement of Ohio.
