VT LeeBoy Secures $11M Contract for Pavers from TACOM

VT LeeBoy Inc.

Lincolnton, NC,- VT LeeBoy Inc., a subsidiary of VT Systems Inc .,has achieved a new milestone with the award of a contract for over $11 million from the US Army Contracting Command (TACOM) for asphalt paving equipment. Its first military contract for paving equipment calls for VT LeeBoy to supply its model 8816B bituminous paver to the US Army over a five-year timeframe. The highly maneuverable 8816B, capable of high production output and operation in tight, confined areas, will be used for military base paving and maintenance projects.

"VT LeeBoy's team is excited to receive this initial contract with the US Army," says Kelly Majeski, president & CEO of VT LeeBoy. "This model is a perfect fit for the Army's needs and we look forward to working with them. Our employees are anxious to demonstrate why VT LeeBoy is the market leader in asphalt paving equipment."

With 70% of the market share in the commercial asphalt paving industry, VT LeeBoy's equipment is seen on job sites throughout North America. Its patented under auger cut-off doors help control the flow of asphalt, reducing the need for a typical size paving crew. A unique feature of the paver is found on the Legend Screed System. It provides an electrical heating system that is much safer, economical and environmentally-friendly than conventional systems. Additional features of this model include 8- to 18-foot paving width, 10-ton hopper capacity and Plus 1 dual joystick control.

"VT LeeBoy prides itself on providing the highest quality of products to its customers," says General (RET) John Coburn, president & CEO of VT Systems. "This contract demonstrates VT LeeBoy's commitment to supporting its new customer, the US Army. We value the trust TACOM has placed in VT LeeBoy's team and look forward to proving why VT LeeBoy is the right choice for the job."
