BLOOMINGTON, MN - Five Toro Dingo TX compact utility loaders and attachments provided by The Toro Company, in partnership with Payline Equipment of South Elgin, IL., proved their versatility during the recent construction of Aquascape's signature 250' x 90' water feature, known as the "World's Most Extreme Pond Build." The event was held in July at Aqualand, Aquascape's headquarters in St. Charles, IL.

Paired with more than 600 attendees and several large excavators, compact excavators, and skid steers, the Toro Dingo loaders may not have been the biggest machines on site, but they may have been the hardest working. "There were five machines on the job that never sat idle for more than five minutes," reveals Neil Borenstein, senior marketing manager for The Toro Company. Used to move gravel, boulders, rocks, mulch, trees and dirt, the Dingo was able to maneuver into tight spaces where the larger equipment couldn't. The compact design of the Dingo provided operators with 360-degree visibility, ensuring maximum productivity and enhancing operator and job site safety. According to Borenstein, the Dingo was invaluable in helping trench for irrigation lines and plant trees using the auger power-head attachment, saving hours of manual hand labor. "Because of the versatility and flexibility of a Dingo loader and its multiple attachments, it can take the place of several dedicated pieces of equipment," he explains.

Even the most inexperienced Dingo user quickly became productive. "That's one of the great things about this machine - anyone can learn to operate it in less than five minutes and be productive immediately," he adds. "With a single control for travel direction and a simple joystick controlling the loader arm, it only takes a matter of minutes to become comfortable operating this machine."

To make sure it wasn't all work and no fun, attendees had the chance to test their skills during the "Pond Olympics" event, coordinated and hosted by Aquascape. Individuals and teams had the opportunity to win prizes by completing an obstacle course on which first-time Dingo users were able to experience just how easy it is to learn and operate the machine.

Aquascape vendors donated more than $200,000 in construction materials toward the project that was completed on schedule and within budget. In addition to a Lawn and Landscape sponsorship, along with many others, this event was made possible with the help of Aquascape and Toro Dingo dealers, including Midland Equipment of Billings, MT, Smith Turf & Irrigation of Charlotte, NC, and Lentzcaping Inc of Warrington, PA.
