Why Construction Fatalities are Falling Regardless of Recession

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported recently reported that construction-industry fatalities are down for the fifth consecutive year, having fallen nearly 42 percent since 2006. Occupational Safety & Health Manager John Meola, CSP, ARM with the Louis Berger Group, talks about how much of the decrease in incidents might be attributable to plummeting construction activity, and why he thinks the numbers are on a downward trend regardless of recession.
