Volvo Construction Equipment will double the capacity of a factory near Bangalore, India, (that it acquired with its 2008 Ingersoll-Rand purchase) to assemble excavators up to a 30-tonne capacity. The company can currently manufacture up to 4,000 roadbuilding machines per year at the location.
Volvo plans to launch Indian-made excavators specifically for the Indian market by November.
