Walkout Threatens World Trade Center Construction

NEW YORK -- Concrete workers at the World Trade Center site are threatening to walk off their jobs.

But a possible strike would not affect the September 11th memorial opening next month on the anniversary of the terror attacks.

Members of the Cement and Concrete Workers District Council are negotiating a new contract, which expired in June.

Workers say they're competing for wages and benefits against workers with lower-paying nonunion contracts.
