NAPA Announces Midyear Meeting

The National Asphalt Pavement Association announced that its Midyear Meeting, being held July 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa, & Casino, is set to deliver valuable educational and networking events to the asphalt industry.

Lanham, MD - The National Asphalt Pavement Association announced that its Midyear Meeting, being held July 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa, & Casino, is set to deliver valuable educational and networking events to the asphalt industry. The schedule includes very timely plenary sessions designed to provide attendees with takeaways that will help them grow their market. The NAPA committee meetings are scheduled to take place as well.

Kicking off the program is inspirational speaker Bruce Boguski. Paralyzed at eighteen in an accident, within two years he regained full use of his body and went on to become a two-time Ohio state champion in racquetball and played on the state softball team. He has been an inspiration to the many teams he has coached.

Other key topics not to be missed are: Marketing Asphalt's Environmental Superiority: Recent Research Findings, presented by National Asphalt Pavement Association's director of environmental & regulatory affairs, Howard Marks, National Center for Asphalt Technology's Richard Willis, and NAPA's vice president - product deployment, Mike Kvach; Current and Future Trends in Liquid Asphalt will be presented by Alon USA's senior vice president – asphalt division, William (Bill) Thorpe; and Your Share of the Pavement Market: How Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide Make a Difference, presented by NAPA vice president of research & technology Dave Newcomb.

Registration for the NAPA Midyear Meeting and educational program is open to NAPA Members and other industry personnel. Registration fees are $325 prior to June 17, and $375 after. There are optional events for this meeting, including a July 19 Beach Barbecue. Hotel rates are $249, plus a $14 per room resort fee. The cut-off date for making reservations is June 16, 2011.
