The United Auto Workers Union ratified a new six-year contract with construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc.
The agreement covers 9,500 hourly production and maintenance workers at Caterpillar plants in Illinois, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Sunday's vote ended the smoothest contract negotiations between the UAW and the Peoria, IL-based company in recent memory.
