Case IH and Ashland Industries to Announce Alliance at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011

The alliance will allow customers to take advantage of special low-rate financing or lease options for heavy-duty Case IH tractors sold with Ashland pull- type scrapers, available from participating Case IH dealers.

RACINE, WI - Contractors now have convenient access to productive, cost-effective, performance-matched tractor/scraper earthmoving systems, as well as flexible financing and leasing, thanks to a new strategic marketing alliance announced by Case IH and Ashland Industries Inc. The alliance, to be announced at the 2011 CONEXPO show, will allow customers to take advantage of special low-rate financing or lease options for heavy-duty Case IH tractors sold with Ashland pull-type scrapers, available from participating Case IH dealers.

"The goal of the Case IH and Ashland alliance is to provide contractors easy access to a complete earthmoving solution," says Randy Rust, President/Partner of Ashland Industries. "We're proud to partner with Case IH because they offer equipment expertise, product durability, service advantages and flexible financing and lease programs, as well as the resources of a leading tractor manufacturer."

"Together, a Case IH tractor matched with an Ashland pan provide a winning combination, designed to move more dirt at the lowest possible cost-per-yard," says Tom Dean, Case IH Tractor Marketing Manager. "With a low initial investment and reduced fuel and labor costs, along with outstanding aftermarket support from Case IH dealers, contractors will quickly see the Case IH and Ashland advantage."

Finance Options for Case IH/Ashland Customers

Local Case IH dealerships who sell Ashland scrapers with Case IH Magnum, Steiger or Quadtrac tractors can now offer special packaged finance OR lease programs through CNH Capital. CNH Capital - the financial services company supporting Case IH - can also provide flexible payment plans to fit customers' cash flow requirements. Customers can finance both pieces of equipment on the same contract or lease and make payments for both at the same time.

"We've been in business more than 50 years, and we can help customers navigate the process of financing and leasing equipment," says Tim Biewer, Marketing Director at CNH Capital. "Rather than pay for equipment up front, our creative loan or lease solutions allow customers to make one easy payment for both pieces of equipment."

Durability and earthmoving advantage

The alliance is built on both companies' rich history of providing high quality, heavy-duty products that perform at the highest level. The latest generation Case IH Magnum and Steiger tractors provide the most power in their respective classes, along with Tier 4A-compliant fuel efficiency driven by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. In addition, Steiger models offer tough frames welded with half-inch thick steel, heavy 5.5-inch axles and 18-bolt hubs and wheels. Case IH Quadtrac tractors feature a patented, four-track system that offers unmatched flotation and maneuverability in challenging conditions. Similarly, Ashland scrapers are built on nearly 60 years of earthmoving equipment manufacturing experience.

"Case IH Steiger and Quadtrac tractors have been proven by many years on construction job sites around the world," says Dean. "Our tractors are built to last, while also keeping operators comfortable and productive during long workdays."

The Case IH tractor with a pull-type scraper system can provide up to a 30-40 percent cost-per-yard advantage, when compared to conventional self-propelled scrapers, especially on sites with short- to medium-haul distances. And they will save even more on labor and fuel, as the Case IH tractor and pull-type scraper combination requires no dozer or other support equipment to follow behind. Working together, the tractor and pull-type scraper can load, transport, dump and spread dirt evenly.

"Tractor technology has come so far in last 15 to 20 years that it's now easy to successfully use Case IH tractors in these industrial applications with their heavy-duty transmissions and axles," says Rust.

The Case IH Quadtrac with an Ashland scraper can boldly go where no tractor-towed scraper has gone before, as the Case IH Quadtrac can easily handle soft and wet conditions that sideline other earthmoving solutions for contractors. Another benefit is easier mobilization. Case IH tractors and the Ashland scrapers can be easily trailered and moved between sites.

The Case IH and Ashland pull-type scraper combination also provides increased versatility to contractors' equipment line up. Case IH tractors have the power to pull multiple scrapers in tandem, and when the job is done, the tractor can pull other equipment such as disks or compaction pull-type implements, while the scraper is sent to another job site.

"Case IH dealers serving contractor markets operate mobile service trucks to keep Case IH tractors properly maintained for maximum uptime," says Dean. "They understand the importance of keeping their contractor customers up and running with stock components and service support."
