CFA to Feature "Ask the Contractor" at World of Concrete

CFA member will answer questions during mini-seminars each afternoon at the show.

MOUNT VERNON, IOWA - The Concrete Foundations Association (CFA) unveiled its plans for the 2011 World of Concrete (WOC) to be held January 17-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A new event this year will be a short mini-seminar each afternoon called "Ask the Contractor" in the CFA Booth (#C4637 Central Hall). A CFA member will answer questions and provide information on a specified topic. The three topics chosen for this year are sustainability, cold weather, and risk management. All seminars begin at 1:30 pm. Simply show up at the CFA Booth 10 minutes before the event.

CFA at the WOC events kick-off Monday morning, January 17th with the CFA Foundation Contractor Certification seminar From 8:00 am -11:00 am. This seminar provides basic education on foundation systems, serves as a qualification seminar companies seeking certification, and is a preparatory seminar for the Certification Technician Exam offered on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 - 5:30. The CFA Board of Directors will meet on Monday afternoon. The meeting is open to all CFA members. Tuesday morning from 8:00 am - 11:00 am Jim Baty, CFA Technical Director, will present a seminar on Insulated Basements: A Response to the International Residential Code. This seminar will explain the code requirements and present different options for insulating basements. You must register with WOC for this seminar.

Tuesday evening the CFA Annual Winter Meeting will be held at the Hofbrauhaus located at 4510 Paradise Road. This networking event runs from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and costs $ 95 per person if you register by January 14th. Register with CFA for this event. Attendance is limited so register early.
