AEMP Trains IT on Cross-Platform Telematics Standard

AEMP Trains IT Professionals on Cross-Platform Telematics Standard at Conexpo

AEMP, an organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, will provide a unique learning opportunity for software developers, IT professionals, and asset management professionals on the recently released Telematics Standard. The program will occur on Monday, March 21, 2011 in Las Vegas from 8:30 – 11:00 AM at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The new telematics standard, which was developed by AEMP in cooperation with key equipment manufacturers, standardizes the delivery of key data from remote machine-monitoring telematic systems to machine owners. It is being hailed as a significant step forward in efforts to meet asset manager’s reporting needs for mixed fleets of heavy equipment.

The seminar is part of AEMP’s 29th Annual Management Conference being held in conjunction with ConExpo. Registrants for the AEMP conference will have access to this session as part of registration. Those wishing to attend the seminar only may do so by registering online at www.aemp.org for $149. The session occurs the day before ConExpo opens (Tuesday, March 22).

The seminar, The AEMP Telematics Data Standard and Its Implications for Mixed-Fleet Management, will cover the Telematics Standard, available resources, and the practical implications of its use for managing mixed fleets of off-road equipment.

The session will continue with a developers’ panel discussion on the Standard, where the audience will be invited to interact with panel members who wrote the Standard, including a Q&A session. The panel will be available to answer technical questions regarding specific data elements, as well as the process of accessing the web service and retrieving fleet data. If an IT manager or developer has questions regarding the nuts and bolts of the standard they are encouraged to bring them to this unique educational opportunity.

About AEMP

Formed in 1980, the Association of Equipment Management Professionals represents fleet professionals who work in construction, government, utilities, energy, and mining and more. AEMP maintains relationships among manufacturers, users, governmental agencies, educational institutions and others involved in the design and management of heavy equipment.

The Equipment Triangle is the cornerstone of the association's philosophy that a balanced relationship must exist between the end user, distributor, and OEM/supplier in the life cycle of a piece of heavy equipment or product. AEMP advances this philosophy through its education and certification programs. For more information, go to www.aemp.org
