Essex's total rental-related revenue accounted for $8.6m, compared to $9.7m in 2009. The Buffalo, Illinois-based firm suggests the decline is primarily due to lower equipment rental.

Equipment rental represented 72.4% of total revenue, or $6.3m for quarter three, 2010, compared to 64% of total revenue, or $7.1m for the same period in 2009.
