As a provider of 3D paving solutions, Leica Geosystems Inc. has been developing software and products for the paving industry for the past 15 years. Its portfolio was designed to help industry professionals meet the DOT’s ridebility specification. To further support this segment, Leica Geosystems announced Kelly Steeves as their new paving account manager for North America.

Steeves has been in the concrete construction industry for the past 21 years, and is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a degree in Communications. He joined R.L. Wadsworth and Provo River Constructors in 2010 and served as the Concrete Paving Manager for the I-15 Core Project in Utah - a 2.8 million square yard, $1.2 billion reconstruct project in Utah County where Leica Solutions were utilized to help meet the demands of this project. The I-15 Core project is the world’s largest wireless paving project to date and was completed faster than any other project of this size.

Steeves began his career as a laborer for Suchor Concrete Construction in Wyoming, and transitioned to a superintendent and estimator. Over the course of 15 years with Suchor Concrete, they received various project awards — noting a national award from the ACPA for an ultra-thin paving project completed in 1999 in Sheridan, WY, as well as an Architectural Concrete Award given by the Concrete Association of Wyoming for the Sheridan Skate Park Project.

Steeves then worked for Concrete Placing Company in Boise, ID, as a superintendent, and paving superintendent for 3 ½ years. While residing in Wyoming, Kelly was a Board Member of the Concrete Association of Wyoming and President of the Concrete Association of Wyoming in 2005.
