PERC Showcases Propane-Fueled Products at JLC Live

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) will showcase a variety of new propane-fueled products from Rinnai and Generac at this year’s JLC Live show in Providence, R.I., from March 22 to 23.

In addition to learning about the latest in propane technology, show attendees can enter to win a Rinnai RL94e or RL94i Luxury Series tankless water heater by stopping by PERC’s booth (No. 436). This tankless water heater increases energy efficiency in the home by helping homeowners reduce costs by up to 40 percent.

Propane on the Jobsite

The new Generac LP5500 portable generator will be on display in PERC’s booth. Brought to market with the support of PERC, the 5.5 kW propane-fueled generator features an integrated tank on a dolly-style frame that improves portability and eliminates manual tank holding. It is designed to provide reliable, highly portable power to builders who want to use propane on the jobsite.

The Generac LP5500 opens the door to new benefits for construction professionals. Unlike gasoline, propane does not degrade over time, virtually eliminating performance problems related to fuel quality. Propane also emits fewer carbon dioxide emissions and toxic pollutants than gasoline, improving jobsite air quality. Finally, in many cases, propane fuel costs less than gasoline, improving builder profit margins.

Innovative Water Heating Technology

A variety of Rinnai products will also be showcased in PERC’s booth including a Rinnai EX22C direct vent furnace, a wall-mounted E110C condensing boiler, a condensing tankless water heater, and a tankless water heater with a domestic priority switch. The first switch of its kind, the domestic priority switch is designed to allow the partnering of a Rinnai tankless water heater with any third-party air handler. Finally, the new Q Premier boiler combines the efficiency of a Rinnai heating-only boiler coupled with a 24-gallon charged indirect tank, bringing the best of both technologies into a single unit. This boiler provides homeowners with reliable comfort, added efficiency, and more versatility than ever before.

Training Tools

Construction professionals will also have an opportunity to explore PERC’s newly updated Propane Energy Pod interactive tool. The Propane Energy Pod is a model for new construction that treats a home’s five key areas of energy use — space heating, water heating, cooking, clothes drying, and fireplaces — as components of a whole-home energy package.

The Propane Energy Pod compares energy costs, HERS scores, and carbon dioxide emissions between Propane Energy Pod homes and standard homes. This interactive tool allows builders to select their county and home size to receive a localized, size-specific comparison of energy costs and is one of many free resources available on PERC’s builder information website, buildwithpropane.com.

Live Propane Training Sessions

Held in the Propane Innovation Pavilion throughout the show in PERC’s booth (No. 436), the live hands-on training sessions will educate construction professionals about recent advancements in propane-fueled space- and water-heating technology. Session attendees will learn how to incorporate these new technologies into their building projects for maximum economic and environmental benefits.
