GMC retail and total sales were up 12 percent and 7 percent respectively year over year in May to the highest mark since 2007. GMC’s core products – Sierra, Acadia and Terrain – all posted May sales gains. For the first five months of the year, the brand is off to its best retail sales start in six years.

Sierra full-size pickup truck retail and total sales in May were the best since 2007. Year-over-year retail Sierra sales were up 30 percent while total Sierra sales grew 22 percent.

Every 2013 Sierra 1500 since February has come standard with Pro Grade Protection, the industry’s best pickup truck coverage. In addition to a five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and three-year/36,000-mile bumper to bumper warranty, Pro Grade Protection includes two years or 24,000 miles – whichever comes first – of standard scheduled maintenance.

Terrain had its best May retail sales ever with sales up 7 percent year over year. Total sales of the Terrain are up 10 percent year to date, their best start to a year ever.

GMC’s three-row crossover vehicle, the Acadia, had its best May retail sales since 2007, up 15 percent year over year. Year-to-date, 2013 has been Acadia’s best five-month start since 2008.
