Kent Somerville has been named national sales manager for Doosan Portable Power, responsible for directing sales strategy and driving continued business growth for the company throughout Canada.
Somerville brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction equipment industry. In his new role he brings knowledge and expertise regarding distribution and rental channels in Canada. Somerville comes to Doosan Portable Power from Volvo Construction Equipment, where he spent six years managing the Canadian rental channel business and key national rental account relationships for North America. Prior to that, Somerville served as the Western Canada district manager for Ingersoll Rand for seven years.
“With two decades of expertise in the construction industry managing distribution and rental channels, Somerville offers extensive regional and market expertise that will add incredible value for our customers, and our company,” said Rita Moore, director of sales, North America, Doosan Portable Power.
Somerville earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Manitoba. He spent more than 10 years serving as the supplier director for the Alberta chapter of the Canadian Rental Association.
