Yanmar America, a supplier of industrial and marine engines, compact construction equipment, compact utility tractors and co-generation energy systems has launched a new business unit solely focused on the remanufacturing of diesel engines.

Yanmar Remanufactured engines are now available for the engine families of the 4TNV86, 4TNV88 and 4TNV98 models. These engines are remanufactured in the U.S. using genuine Yanmar parts that meet or exceed current standards. Each remanufactured engine comes with a full one-year parts and labor warranty.

Given its history and heritage in the manufacturing of diesel engines, "it makes good business sense to offer our dealers, distributors and OEMs the option of replacing an original Yanmar engine with a Yanmar Remanufactured engine,” said Ted Bregar, president, Yanmar America.

The remanufacturing category has grown substantially over the years because it makes economic sense and is good for the environment. Remanufactured engines use fewer raw materials, while leaving a much smaller carbon footprint than a brand-new engine.

Yanmar has always been committed to doing the right thing when it comes to the environment,” said Doug Englert, Remanufacturing Division manager. “Yanmar’s new remanufacturing business will further our overall sustainability efforts.”

In the U.S. alone, the rebuilt and remanufactured diesel engine category is projected to grow into a $21 billion market segment.
