BOMAG Americas, Inc. and Territory Manager, Jim Head, announce the expansion of Five Star Equipment Inc.’s territory into northeastern Pennsylvania, which brings a strong soil compaction equipment focus throughout the distributor’s new and previously existing territory. In the expanded Pennsylvania territory and in eastern New York, Five Star will specialize in soil and landfill compaction with BOMAG’s line of single drum and light tandem/combination rollers and embankment and refuse compactors. In Five Star’s western Pennsylvania territory, they will represent these same product lines as well as the MPH Series of recyclers/stabilizers, heavy tandem and combination rollers, milling machines and pneumatic tired rollers.

“Five Star has been a solid distributor for BOMAG, and we are pleased to partner with them as they focus on soil compaction equipment throughout their territory,” says John Hood, director of sales, heavy equipment for BOMAG Americas, Inc. “Five Star is strong in the soils business, and BOMAG has one of the industry’s broadest offerings of compaction equipment to match this strength.” Head adds, “This new territory forms perfectly with Five Star’s footprint in the market, and the BOMAG-Five Star relationship will definitely benefit contractors in both Pennsylvania and New York.”

At the heart of this new contract is BOMAG’s vast line of single drum smooth and padfoot rollers, which can be used for applications ranging from site prep and trench compaction to highway and landfill compaction and maintenance. High frame to drum weight ratios offer improved compaction performance throughout the line. The light tandem and combination rollers now offered throughout the territory give Five Star flexible asphalt compactors to supplement the distributor’s rental fleet.

For soil stabilization and road rehabilitation contractors in western Pennsylvania, BOMAG and Five Star offer the industry standard MPH Series of recyclers/stabilizers with models delivering power ranges from 360 to 590 hp (268 to 440 kW). Additionally, the high performance BOMAG utility and half-lane milling machines provide cutting widths from 11.9 to 98.4 inches (300 to 2,500 mm).
