31% Increase in Ram Truck Sales Leads Chrysler to Best July Since 2006

July was the fifth consecutive month in which Ram Trucks delivered the largest percentage sales gain of any Chrysler brand; Ram pickup sales have grown for 39 consecutive months.

Chrysler Group's 11 percent U.S. sales increase to 140,102 units compared to July 2012 an  represents the group’s best July sales since 2006.

Ram Truck's sales increased 31 percent, the largest gain of any Chrysler brand. Jeep, Dodge and Fiat brands also posted year-over-year sales gains compared with the same month a year ago. 

“We continue to see strong retail sales, particularly with our pickup trucks and SUVs, and that has helped to propel Chrysler Group to our 40th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth,” said Reid Bigland, head of U.S. sales.

Dodge sales were up 18 percent in July, driven in part by an 88 percent increase in Durango full-size SUV sales.

Sales of the Light Duty Ram pickup were up 25 percent, driven by the Crew Cab pickups, while Heavy Duty Ram sales increased 35 percent.
