For the second year in a row, The Rental Show has sold out exhibit space, according to the American Rental Association, which puts on the annual show. More than 675 exhibitors have signed up for the Orlando event, to be held Feb. 9-12, 2014 at the Orange County Convention Center.

Of the 2014 exhibitors, more than 80 will be brand-new to the show. The first-time exhibitors cover all three trade show departments — construction/ industrial, general tool/homeowner and party/special event — and will be displaying products such as generators, access equipment, pumps, drywall equipment, tools, lawn and garden equipment, software, furniture, games, dinnerware, centerpieces and more.

The Rental Show is one of Tradeshow Executive’s 50 fastest growing trade shows in the U.S. and is a perennial top 100 trade show to attend.

The Rental Show is known as the ‘must attend’ event by the equipment rental industry, for all of the equipment, education and networking that it provides in one location,” says Mike Blaisdell, ARA president and vice president, Bunce Rental, Tacoma, Wash.

“With the favorable economic outlook projected for our industry in the coming years, we know The Rental Show will only become more important to our ARA members and industry attendees. A task force of ARA rental and supplier members convenes annually to create a program for the following year to deliver a top notch attendee experience,” Blaisdell says.

The ARA board of directors takes a long-term view when it comes to venues for The Rental Show. “We have several core requirements for The Rental Show, such as one contiguous floor, a warm destination city, February dates and a multiple-city rotation,” says Blaisdell. “With attendees from throughout the United States and Canada, and more than 30 countries internationally, ARA looks at securing sites forThe Rental Show far into the future.”

Planned as future sites for The Rental Show, and respective years of the event include:

  • New Orleans: 2015, 2018, 2021, 2024, 2027 and 2030.
  • Atlanta: 2016.
  • Orlando: 2017, 2020, 2023, 2026 and 2029.
  • Anaheim: 2019 and 2022.

Las Vegas has been in the rotation over the last few cycles. However, due to unavailability of preferred dates in February 2016, and for the near-term future years, the ARA has scheduled The Rental Show 2016 in Atlanta and Anaheim for the 2019 and 2022 shows.

“The ARA 60th Anniversary will be held in Atlanta in 2016 and ARA will return The Rental Show to the western U.S. with the rotation to Anaheim for 2019 and 2022,” says Christine Wehrman, ARA's executive vice president and CEO.

“The ARA is committed to annually providing The Rental Show to the industry as its showcase event. This recent action to secure sites that meet the criteria of ARA assures The Rental Show will serve the needs of the industry for many years to come,” Wehrman says.
