Kenworth Showcasing Vocational Truck Offering at 2014 Work Truck Show

Kenworth will display the new Kenworth T880 Class 8 vocational flagship at The Work Truck Show for the first time plus some of its other medium-duty trucks

Kenworth Truck Company will offer the latest information on its quality diesel and natural gas work trucks and participate in green truck ride-and-drive sessions during the Green Truck Summit and The Work Truck Show March 4-8 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The annual event is sponsored by the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA).

Doug Powell, Kenworth medium duty marketing manager, will present a “Kenworth Chassis Update” from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, March 6. The informative product session will focus on the Kenworth T270 and T370 conventionals, K270 and K370 cabovers, T440 compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, and T880 Class 8 vocational trucks. Participants also will gain insights into vocation-specific options to help optimize body and equipment installation and designs.

In its booth (No. 1403), Kenworth will display a K270 cabover, T370 diesel-electric hybrid,  T370 utility truck with PACCAR PX-7 engine, T440 with ISL G CNG configuration, T440 Extended Day Cab dump with PACCAR PX-9 engine, and new T880 dump and T880 chassis – both equipped with the PACCAR MX-13 engine.

During the show’s Green Truck Summit, Kenworth’s Andy Douglas, national sales manager for specialty markets, will participate in a OEM forum on “The Future of Sustainability for Work Trucks” Wednesday March 5 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Douglas also will offer a “Kenworth Update on Alternative Fuel Options” from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. March 5. A Kenworth T800 short hood CNG-powered truck with a Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine will participate in the event’s Green Ride and Drive from noon to 4:30 p.m. on both March 5 and 6.
