Elgin Sweeper, a division of Federal Signal Corporation and the leading manufacturer of street sweepers for general street maintenance, special industrial and airport applications, has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement allowing the company to become an official partner with NASCAR Green, the sustainability arm of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc. (NASCAR). The new alliance makes Elgin Sweeper an Official NASCAR Green Partner, with the designation “Official Sweeper of NASCAR Green.”
Elgin Sweeper will be present at each NASCAR race event weekend to support NASCAR's Air Titan equipment to dry rain-soaked racetracks, saving jet fuel and reducing NASCAR’s overall carbon footprint. In addition to supporting the Air Titan equipment with the Elgin Crosswind® Specialty Track Sweeper, Elgin Sweeper will help clean and dry the tracks during caution periods if necessary.
“The entire team at Elgin Sweeper is extremely proud of our new partnership with NASCAR, and proud to join a growing roster of companies using the NASCAR Green platform to validate technologies – like our green, energy-efficient, low-emissions EcoInfused™ Technology solutions for street sweepers – that positively impact the environment,” said Mike Higgins, vice president and general manager of Elgin Sweeper Company. “It’s our hope that this partnership will reduce the number of NASCAR races postponed or shortened due to wet weather conditions. By helping racing fans learn more about innovative green programs and energy solutions, we have the added benefit of helping to build a more sustainable future.”
“NASCAR is proud to welcome Elgin Sweeper to the more than 20 Official NASCAR Green Partners that utilize the platform as a proving ground to validate their green technologies,” said Dr. Mike Lynch, NASCAR vice president of green innovation. “Elgin as a clear leader in its industry will help further reduce the environmental impact of NASCAR while engaging the broadest and most relevant consumer and business audience in the world of sports for Elgin products.”
