Haulotte Group reported increased sales in most regions of the world in its 2014 first quarter results. Revenue for the quarter stood at €89.3 million, an increase of 16% from €79.2 million compared to the same period in 2013. The figure is based on constant exchange rates and adjusting for the sale of its UK rental business UK Platforms to HSS in June last year.
Haulotte’s equipment sales increased 15%, representing 83.4% of total sales, compared to 83.6% in the first quarter 2013. Service was up 26% and the remaining rental activity up 6%.
Sales increased significantly in North America where the company saw a 40% rise, while Asia-Pacific was up 30% and Europe increased by 17% - all excluding currency impact.
Latin America saw a decrease in sales of 18%, which the company said was mainly due to several large regular orders delivered in the first quarter of 2013, that have not been received yet for 2014.
