Auction Results Take a Dip in June

June auction sales of rental and construction equipment averaged 4.4 percent lower than May forced liquidation values (FLV), according to the July Rouse Rental Report.

June auction sales of rental and construction equipment averaged 4.4 percent lower than May forced liquidation values (FLV), according to the July Rouse Rental Report.

Rouse recorded 3,453 units that sold at 40 separate auction sales conducted across North America. The units represented a combined FLV (as of May 31) of $88.5 million and generated $84.6 million of gross auction proceeds.

The Rouse Rental Report also reveals that June used equipment prices increased 0.1 percent from May values. This is 5.7 percent higher than the prior peak period of 43.3 in April 2007, and 54.3 percent higher than the prior rough period in June 2009. 

April rental rates increased an average of 0.3 percent from March rates for the rental companies participating in the Rouse Analytics Rental Metrics Benchmark Service. Rates are up 4.5 percent relative to April 2013 and up 23 percent relative to January 2011. April physical utilization is up 2.8 percent from March.
