ITW Commercial Construction, North America will feature two newer products at World of Concrete that save a significant amount of time and are more efficient than others in their respective categories. The Ramset-I-F Insulation System and the new Tapcon+ original concrete screw anchor will be demonstrated in the outdoor booth (#O31750) at the show, scheduled for February 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Contractors have learned the Ramset-I-F Insulation Fastening System can be as much as four times faster to install into concrete, steel, hollow block, and wood when compared to traditional stick pin installation methods. It is 99.5 percent thermal efficient, does not require installers to be licensed to operate the tool or require reloading ammunition after every 10 shots, and performs with less recoil after each shot.

“The Ramset-I-F System is very fast and a highly effective way to get the work done year-round. It’s also more user-friendly when you take into account that it hits the installer’s hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder with less force than other devices,” remarks J. Schneider, marketing director for ITW Commercial Construction, North America.

“Any installer fastening to concrete, hollow block, wood, and steel studs can now attach insulation in one simple step. With our system, there is no need to use adhesives or cut spindle insulation anchors. Ramset-I-F fastens directly to many applications, from foundation and block walls to heated floors, parking garages, and even with balcony and ceiling acoustical situations. It eliminates the process to glue or use stick pin insulation anchors, and it’s an ideal solution for fastening insulation in tight spaces through pipes and sprinkler systems.”

The Ramset-I-F fasteners range from 1 to 6 inches and are suitable for concrete, hollow block, wood, and steel studs. It can shoot over 1,000 shots before needing to be replaced. These fasteners provide 211 pounds. of ultimate tension capacity to attach insulation such as Rockwool, Expanded Polystyrene, and Extruded Polystyrene into concrete, hollow block, wood, and steel studs.

The new technology benefits of Tapcon+ have made it possible to replace wedge anchors. Easier and quicker to install, the new Tapcon+ original concrete screw anchor provides greater load capacity while reducing installation time by up to 50 percent.

“Tapcon+ was in the development stage at this time last year, but we picked up some great feedback in our booth from the audience attending World of Concrete and applied what we learned into this product,” reveals Schneider. “For planning purposes, it’s a great product to recommend since it is approved for concrete in cracked, uncracked and seismic conditions. The Advanced Threadform Technology makes it faster to install than wedge anchors and it also has superior corrosion resistance. For on-the-job performance, it’s hard to beat.”
