At World of Concrete Europe (WOC Europe), the entire concrete industry will congregate in Paris as part of the upcoming INTERMAT trade show. WOC Europe will be one of the starring features of the global trade event for equipment, machinery and technology for the construction industry, to be held April 20-20, 2015 at Paris-Nord Villepinte.

With this new initiative, INTERMAT will showcase a full product range aimed at the concrete industry, spanning from the primary stages of the concrete cycle (materials, products and additives) to final application (decorative concrete, coatings and mortars, engineering and services).

For its first ever edition in Europe, WOC Europe will play host to industry players from European and French-speaking countries (in particular from the Middle East and Africa).

Incorporated within INTERMAT under the banner “Be Concrete”, WOC Europe will bring visitors an exhaustive concrete and stonework offering for the construction industry: concrete mixers, equipment for concrete production, placing and handling, facilities for making pre-cast concrete elements, OEM, innovative tools, software, engineering services, horizontal and decorative concrete tools and materials, masonry equipment, etc., alongside a host of ancillary equipment. The event will assemble a total of over 100 exhibitors. Among newcomers to the show feature concrete manufacturers, producers of additives, equipment and tools for special concretes: CEMEX, Chryso, Holcim, HTC Floor Systems, Husqvarna Construction, Imer, Mapei, Sika and more.

Outdoor “Concrete Demos”
Located on a highly visible pitch, the “Concrete Demos” event will stage nonstop demonstrations dedicated to concrete product placing and in particular decorative, polished, scrabbled and printed concretes. These features will also shine a spotlight on layers’ methods and the demonstration of tools and equipment by concrete industry specialists. Among the WOC Europe exhibitors who have planned to hold demonstrations are Holcim, HTC, Mapei, Blastrac, Moderne Methode.

Rudy Ricciotti, Sponsor of WOC Europe
This inaugural session of WOC Europe will be held under the patronage of Rudy Ricciotti, the renowned architect and general contractor of many iconic sites which have highlighted the many assets of concrete. As a pioneer and an ambassador for concrete, he provides a savvy mix of creative clout and a genuine construction culture.

As sponsor of WOC Europe, Ricciotti will present his most noteworthy projects at an inaugural presentation on April 21, 2015 and as part of a meeting with the French and international media. He will also take part in the official guided tour of the show in the presence of its director Maryvonne Lanoä, and will also attend the opening cocktail reception in the presence of partners, journalists and special guests.

A concrete-specific educational program
A large number of talks and workshops devoted to concrete will examine technical innovation and processes to help deliver truly exceptional concrete works. Four major themes will be covered: concrete fundamentals, special concretes, maintenance and repair, demolition and recycling.

INTERMAT Innovation Awards, World of Concrete Award
At the INTERMAT Innovation Awards gala event, the World of Concrete Award was made by Tom Cindric, Vice President of Informa Exhibitions (the organizer of World of Concrete Las Vegas), to the firm Tekla. The award winner was congratulated for its Tekla Structures Construction Modeling solution, a package aimed at all concrete contractors which facilitates the design, estimation, management and planning of all types of project from a 3D BIM model.

A one-off exhibition: “30 Years of the Equerre d’Argent”
WOC Europe will also play host to an exhibition portraying all of the buildings distinguished by the Equerre d’Argent award between 1983 and 2013. This most prestigious architecture prize is awarded annually to a building erected in France, irrespective of its architect’s nationality. The exhibition is thus an abstract of French architecture over the past three decades, from the most prestigious works (Picasso museum, Institute du Monde Arabe, Cité de la Musique, etc.) to municipal buildings (kindergartens, car parks, media libraries, schools, gymnasiums, etc.) and housing.
