PHCo Flanged Immersion Heater
Process Heating Co. (PHCo) offers a new heater that is designed for tanks, large vats and reservoirs. The unit consists of a standard 150- or 300-pound flange for mounting as well as PHCo's exclusive heating elements which are of a drywell and "low density" design. These drywells allow the elements to be serviced or replaced without draining the tank reducing any downtime to a minimum. Low watt density keeps the element sheath temperature low, reducing the chance of coking or heater buildup. The heaters can be supplied with PHCo's custom, U.L. Listed control panels integrally mounted and wired to the heaters. They can also be supplied without controls if they are present.
Quixote QuadGuard CZ Configuration
Energy Absorption Systems Inc., a division of Quixote Transportation Safety Inc., has added modular plate bases to its QuadGuard CZ portable crash cushion for work zones. This significantly reduces the need for anchorage and allows the system to be installed as a complete unit in about half the time as the original QuadGuard CZ. The new system requires anchoring to asphalt with 40 percent fewer anchor bolts. Units are available in three- and nine-bay configurations. Its compact and modular design can accommodate speeds from 45 mph to 71 mph and is 80 percent reusable after most design impacts. The system is available in 24-, 30- and 36-inch widths.
Wacker Reversible Plates
Wacker's new reversible plates, the BPU 2540A and BPU 3050A models, are designed for confined area compaction of granular and mixed soils. Units offer fully hydraulic forward and reverse operation with spot compaction. Other features include a low vibration, shock-mounted guide handle that offers single-lever direction control providing virtually vibration-free operation. The BPU 2540A weighs 308 pounds and has a 15.8-inch-wide baseplate. It produces 5,625 pounds of centrifugal force and has a forward/reverse travel speed of 68.9 feet per minute. The 366-pound BPU 3050A offers a 19.96-inch-wide baseplate and produces 6,750 pounds of centrifugal force.
