Caterpillar Asphalt Compactors
Caterpillar's new vibratory asphalt compactors are powered by 32.7-gross-hp Caterpillar 3013C diesel engines. The CB-214E double-drum model has a 39-inch compaction width and a 5,400-pound operating weight. The CB-224E double-drum unit has a 47-inch compaction width and an operating weight of 5,800 pounds, and the CB-225E has a 47-in.-wide front drum and four smooth tires in the rear. All three units generate 3,780 vpm.
Multiquip V30-4
Multiquip's V30-4 single-drum vibroatry roller features 3,730 pounds of centifugal force. Unit features 4,400 vpm and a 30-inch-wide drum. Three engine options are available: a 10-hp Yanmar diesel, a 11-hp Robin gasoline engine and a 11-hp Honda gasoline engine. Customized transport hooks allow the operator to easily load the unit on the tailgate of a dump truck.
Shannon Chastain BASIC Model 700
The 1 1/2- to 3-ton BASIC Model 700 pneumatic roller features a 7-wheel design that is designed to provide more compaction than 9-wheel machines in its class. Unit also features hydrostatic drive and power steering and a 28-hp Kubota diesel engine. The unit's wheels oscillate independently.
Vibromax 255/265 Rollers
The Vibromax 255/265 tandem drum rollers offer a 65-inch inside turning radius. Features include 39- and 47-inch drum widths, a water-cooled Kubota diesel engine, and up to 8,100 pounds of centrifugal force. There is easy access to all maintenance items. Units are 94.5 inches long.
Bomag BW11RH
Bomag's BW11RH pneumatic-tired roller features a 9,975-pound standard operating weight; 27,000-pound fully ballasted. Unit features a low center of gravity design and wide-opening engine doors. Other features include dual center-facing seat cockpit and a 15.5-mph maximum speed.
