Construction Equipment Fair

In addition to temporary exhibit space, a seventh entrance and registration building are being added to the main exhibit area to improve visitor traffic flow.

In terms of exhibit space, bauma is already the biggest trade fair in the world. But for the next event in April 2010, this international showcase for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment is getting even bigger. In response to record demand from exhibitors, the show organizer plans to erect additional temporary halls, bringing the total exhibit space to 663,774 sq. yds. (555,000 sq. meters), or nearly 6 million sq ft.

"This development shows that in a tough economic climate, bauma remains a milestone in the trade fair calendar of the sector, and that this sector is determined to demonstrate its innovative capabilities at the world's leading trade fair," says Eugen Egetenmeir, a member of the Management Board of Messe München International. "As the organizer of bauma, Messe München will do everything possible to create the best conditions and provide the same high level of service for that event."

The temporary halls will be used to provide additional exhibit space to the Formworks and Scaffolding and Construction Equipment and Tools product sections, both of which proved in particularly high demand from exhibitors.

In addition, improvements are under way to facilitate easier access into the exhibition, including the addition of a seventh entrance to the main exhibit area, as well as improved visitor flow between the open air sites.

More international than ever
The bauma trade fair is held every three years in Munich, Germany. Of the 3,002 exhibitors at bauma 2007, 1,643 came from 48 countries outside of Germany. The countries with the strongest contingents were Italy, the U.S., Great Britain and China.
