Utility Vehicle Delivers Attachment Capability
Bobcat Co. brought editors to a Fargo, ND, test site to view and test drive its latest innovation, the 2300 4x4 (four-wheel drive) utility vehicle. This new concept in people and cargo haulers is not only beefier looking and more rugged than its predecessors, it offers the unique ability to mow, sweep and move materials via its RapidLink attachment system.
With the RapidLink system, the company has designed attachment performance right into the vehicle. The attachment arm can lift loads up to 500 lbs. to as high as 2 ft. It can be equipped with five specially designed attachments, including a bucket, mower, pallet fork, snow blade and whisker push broom.
Users can operate and change attachments from the seat using a joystick control. During attachment changes, the only need to leave the seat to lock or unlock the attachment. When not in use, the RapidLink attachment arm can be removed within roughly 15 minutes for traditional four-wheel-drive applications. An optional brush guard is available to protect the hydraulic cylinders.
The 20-hp 2300 maintains many of the same features of the 2200 version, including the IntelliTrak drive system. This system automatically sends power to all four wheels when maximum traction is needed for climbing hills or traveling over soft terrain.
The automatic locking differential engages when required and disengages when turning to minimize ground disturbance and wear to tires and drive components.
