Doosan Heavy Industries has completed its purchase of Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery. As a result, the Daewoo Heavy Industries America subsidiary has formally changed its name to Doosan Infracore America. This name change only applies to the corporate entity. All of the product lines will retain the Daewoo name.

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. has acquired the majority ownership interest in Road Machinery Co., a Komatsu distributor with its headquarters in Phoenix, AZ, and eight branch offices throughout the four Southwest states and North Mexico. Komatsu America Co., the former owner, will maintain a minority interest in the newly formed Road Machinery LLC.

The Board of Directors at Allied Construction Products, LLC has appointed Robert M. Scalabrini to the position of president/CEO. Scalabrini previously served as executive vice president/COO during fiscal year 2004. His appointment coincides with the recent addition of the Rammer attachments to the Allied full line of construction equipment products.

Intensus Engineering and Tiger Equipment announce a strategic partnership. Under this alliance, Intensus appoints Tiger responsible for U.S. rental sales and dealer development. Intensus products in the United States will include 2- to 4-cu.-yd. wheel loaders, 2.5- to 12-ton asphalt rollers, soil vibratory rollers from 8 to 20 tons, motor graders and bulldozers.

LoJack Corp. has reached its 1,000th construction equipment recovery in the United States. The recovery, which took place in Newark, NJ, in February, involved a stolen 2002 Ingersoll-Rand loader. The loader was tracked and recovered by the Essex County Police using LoJack's Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. Officers also found several other pieces of stolen construction equipment. Total value of the recovered equipment was estimated at $500,000.
