Things couldn't have worked out much better for the recently completed National Pavement Expo in Nashville. In addition to winter storms holding off until contractors and exhibitors could make it home, NPE 2004 featured a bustling exhibit floor and more than 50 seminars and workshops that were, in many cases, standing room only.

Show Manager Loretta Miles said attendance at NPE was up over the 2003 show to more than 2100 contractors, and many exhibitors used NPE to introduce themselves or new products to the NPE audience.

Bomag America, formerly Compaction America, brought its newly acquired Gilcrest ProPaver line (painted BOMAG yellow) and a variety of support equipment including rollers to NPE.

Also new to NPE, featuring a patriotic red, white, and blue booth and equipment, was B & A Sealcoat Supply, whose show discounts (including a 10% savings on custom fabricated equipment) kept their booth busy.

Another first-time exhibitor, Wooster Hydrostatics, marketed its service for motors and hydraulic pumps. The Ohio remanufacturer maintains more than 1,000 new and rebuilt exchange units in stock, tests each unit before shipping, and offers a VIP 24-hour turnaround program.
