Wirtgen to expand Vögele paver plant
Early next year Wirtgen America Inc. will break ground for construction of a 30,000-sq.-ft. expansion of its Vögele America paver plant in Chambersburg, PA, according to Stu Murray, Wirtgen America president.
"This expansion will better enable distribution and service of all Wirtgen America Inc. 'Three Amigo' products of Wirtgen recycling, Hamm compaction, and Vögele America asphalt paving products in the eastern United States," Murray said.
He said the expansion will bring both Hamm and Wirtgen product inventory and parts into Chambersburg for distribution throughout the Northeast.
The new building will contain five service bays for pre-delivery preparation, service, and remanufacturing. It will also include office space and a 2,400-sq.-ft. training facility.
