These versatile machines can easily maneuver in and out of areas often inaccessible to larger material handlers. And today’s power buggies include features that further enhance productivity and mobility, such as larger buckets, fold-up platforms and removable tires. Here’s a look at some current models.

Magnum MPB16

The MPB16 power buggy has a heavy-duty steel frame and a four-point wheel stance for maximum stability. Its 16-cu.-ft.-capacity polyethylene bucket has a 2,500-lb. payload capacity. The 13-hp Honda four-stroke engine has recoil start and a 13-gal. top-mounted fuel tank. The MPB16 incorporates a variable-speed hydraulic drive, as well as thumb-operated controls, an ergonomic handle bar and large, slip-resistant rider platform.

Miller Spreader MB16P Power Buggy

The MB16P power buggy offers strength and durability with its 2” x 9” solid-steel frame. All six tires are filled with SuperFlex gel to eliminate downtime and lost productivity caused by flats. The buggy is available with a poly or steel bucket. The 13-hp Honda engine has a recoil or electric start.

Ingersoll-Rand PB16130H

The 16.5-cu.-ft. PB16130H power buggy has a 13-hp Honda engine with electric or recoil start and an extra 3-gal. fuel tank. The unit is available with a steel- or poly-type bucket. The hydrostatic drive system allows simultaneous drive and dump functions, while the hydraulic system allows for aggressive dumping that discharges more of the bucket’s contents. A counter-balanced frame design keeps the tires in contact with the ground in steep conditions, even when the bucket is empty. Optional foam-filled tires allow for added stability.

Stone FB1000 Mud Buggy

The FB1000 Mud Buggy provides the versatility of a stake bed, flat bed and extended flat bed. The stake bed can carry up to 10 cu. ft. with a 2,500-lb. load capacity. Its side panels can be removed for conversion to a flat bed or an extended flat bed for carrying wider loads. The outer tires can be removed to allow the unit to fit through standard doorways. It converts back to a standard mortar buggy in less than 15 minutes.
