Atlas Copco's DMM3 is a rotary blasthole drill. It comes with either a 950- or 1,000-hp engine with a 2,600 cfm compressor to clear cuttings from the hole. It drills to 240 ft. deep at a speed of up to 300 feet per hour in typical shale overburden materials. Operators have the choice of an electric or diesel engine. Operator controls are electric over hydraulic for ease and rapid response. Six lights, with an option for 12, make for safe operation in all conditions. The excavator-type undercarriage allows for better traction and slewing ability in all ground conditions.
