Madvac introduces its CS500 compact sweeper to its liine of vacuum litter collection vehicles. The CS500 is designed for sidewalks, pathways, alleyways as well as airports, dowtown districts and larger projects. Features include an ergonomically designed operator's cab and two independent brushes that sweep a width of 10 feet 6 inches. The joystick-controlled brushes extend an extra 3 feet for hard-to-reach areas. The high-pressure washdown hose cleans food spillage and stains. Other features include a 25-mph maximum travel speed, turbocharged Detroit diesel engine and the ability to sweep up to 215,777 square feet per hour.
Johnston's CANbus system monitors the VT651 Street Sweeper's performance and provides daily system checks. Operating data can be downloaded to a USB stick and used to analyze operators' use of the sweeper and to improve cost control.
Elgin's Megawind is a combination leaf and debris vacuum and catch basin cleaner with an optional street sweeper system. It features a 12-in. leaf and debris hose system with an articulated power boom that has 180-degree rotation. The Megawind is available on a conventional chassis or premium Nissan Diesel UD3300 chassis. Debris hopper capacities range from 10 to 15 cu. yds.
The new LitterBoss is a ride-operated litter sweeper/vacuum designed to climb curbs up to 9 in. high to pick up dirt, fine sand and bulk litter. A 12-ft. accessory hose vacuums up debris in hard-to-reach areas. LitterBoss is equipped with front-mounted spray jets to control side broom dust. Hopper features an electronic filter shaker.
