The high-clearance FMX features a robust, modern exterior with a new upper grill, aggressive lower front, three-part steel bumper with .12-in.-thick (3 mm) steel corners, rugged skid plate and protective bull bar. Power is provided by either an 11-liter (330 to 450 hp) or 13-liter (380 to 500 hp) engine. The construction version of the I-Shift gearbox makes it possible to "rock free" from almost any situation. A new load sensor sends precise load weight information to I-Shift for an optimal gear sequence and smooth gear start. Braking power of 502.7 hp (375 kW) at 2,300 rpm is provided by Volvo Engine Brake Plus.
