Case launched the F Series wheel loaders with three models, updating the 721F and 821F and slightly downsizing the 921F with a 4 3/4 cubic yard bucket. A 6.7-liter Isuzu engine -- rated at 179, 211 and 242 hp in the three models -- meets Tier 4 Interim emissions regulations differently from most loaders. Isuzu's selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology does all of its exhaust scrubbing in the exhaust stream, leaving the combustion chamber to be optimized for performance. Case says the new machines provide faster throttle response, quicker cycle times and higher travel speeds while delivering as much as 17% greater fuel efficiency.
An optional fuel-efficiency package includes a five-speed transmission with a lockup torque converter, open-differential axles and advanced system programming contributes nearly half of that fuel savings. The standard power train is a four-speed transmissions with limited-slip front and rear axles.
A new dual-mode shutdown feature maximizes fuel economy and monitors vital engine components. Using the fuel-saver mode, the operator can limit the time the machine will idle. The desired shutdown time can be set in five-minute increments.
Bucket capacities are 3.25 cubic yards for the 721F and 4.25 cubic yards for the 821F.
Case retains its joystick steering feature, offering it along side of a steering wheel for the operator to choose. An optional two-lever hydraulic control system is available. The Case PowerInch feature lets the operator quickly and precisely approach targets in tight areas, regardless of engine speed. PowerInch maintains high engine speed to maximize hydraulic power and control.
A new rearview camera with adjustable color monitor is available in the Case F Series.
