Cat redesigned the boom of the JLG-platform 54-ft. traditional lift-and-place TL1255 with significantly more steel. A new Caterpillar powershift transmission (four forward and three reverse gears) replaced the previous model's ZF gearbox, bringing the TL1255C a transmission-disconnect feature for maintaining hydraulic power when maneuvering close in loading work. The 142-hp C4.4 ACERT engine meets Tier 4 Interim emissions regulations and its diesel particulate filter has an 8,000-hour recommended change interval.
