Hydraulic accumulators in Liebherr's HS 8300 HD hybrid crawler crane store excess energy to power peak efforts.
The new duty cycle 300-metric-ton-class HS 8300 HD crawler crane includes what Liebherr calls a Pactronic hybrid drive. The system stores excess energy by charging hydraulic accumulators and regenerates it during high-demand effort to expand the machine's capability and reduce fuel consumption. The system allows the 972-hp diesel engine to achieve hoisting power of 1,073 hp and system power comparable to a conventional 1,676-hp drive system.
- Reduced fuel consumption
- Reduced noise
- Increased hoisting and lowering power
- Boom length: 224 feet 5 inches
- Hydraulic free-fall winches: 50-metric-tons of line pull
