Standard engine for the Silverado High Country is the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8, SAE-certified at 355 hp. Direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management -- which automatically switches the truck to run on four cylinders during light-load driving -- boosts highway fuel economy to 23 mpg for two-wheel-drive models.
