Chevrolet enters the premium-pickup segment with Silverado 1500 High Country, distinguished by a unique chrome grille, halogen projector headlamps, standard P275/55R20 all-season tires mounted on unique 20-in. chrome wheels, heated and cooled perforated leather front bucket seats, and a Bose sound system.

Standard engine for the Silverado High Country is the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8, SAE-certified at 355 hp. Direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management -- which  automatically switches the truck to run on four cylinders during light-load driving -- boosts highway fuel economy to 23 mpg for two-wheel-drive models. The also will be available.

The generous standard-equipment list leaves few options for the $50,000-plus Silverado High Country. Primarily, it's the all-new 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8. A chrome rear bumper with CornerStep, integrated trailer brake controller, sunroof, navigation, and a rear-seat entertainment system are also available. The hyperbolic High Country Premium Package includes heated steering wheel, driver-alert package, adjustable pedals and integrated trailer brake controller.
