In SketchUp 2014, the 3D Warehouse has been rebuilt, making it easier for users to quickly find the models they need, create and organize their own collections and share them.
The 3D Warehouse features a WebGL viewer, enabling anyone to navigate models in 3D in a web browser. Users also can embed 3D models in their own websites.
Users can classify object groups or components with the pre-loaded IFC classification, use alternate classification types or create a customized system for their specific needs. Selected types auto-populate into labels and callouts.
Improved features for information modeling include a new tool for classifying geometry and an IFC export for easier file handoffs with other BIM tools.
Several updates to the core SketchUp modeler include improvements in shadow rendering and improved arc tools.
Updated November 2014: SketchUp 2015
The SketchUp 2014 3D modeling platform features tools to improve the classification of design objects, tighten interoperability with other products used in BIM workflows and make professional documentation more efficient.
- 3D Warehouse features an integrated WebGL viewer to preview and orbit models in full 3D, the ability to upload 3D models (up to 50 mb) directly from a Web browser and a Product Catalogs feature to speed finding specific manufacturer products
- SketchUp Pro offers expanded interoperability with other commonly used tools and data thanks to IFC Export, Classifier and Component Options features
- Enhanced 2D documentation capabilities include auto tags to improve accuracy and reduce repetitive work, smart labels with pre-populated relevant text and improvements in speed for vector-rendered model views
