Trimble introduced new additions to its line of construction laser tools – the Spectra Precision GL412N/GL422N Grade Lasers, LL400HV Laser Level and HV302 Horizontal/Vertical Laser.

"The new range of Spectra Precision lasers is a continuation of our rich history and field-proven experience in the construction market. By further simplifying the operation of the new lasers and increasing performance with advanced features, we are providing solutions that enable customers to meet the challenges they face on the jobsite," said Mike Bank, general manager of Precision Tools.

The new lasers are ruggedized, automatic self-leveling and designed for a wide range of general construction, site preparation and interior applications including general elevation control, leveling forms and footers, concrete pours, excavations, ceiling and drywall installation as well as single and dual slope work.

The GL412N and GL422N are single and dual grade lasers that also offer long-range operation in addition to their grade capability of -10 to +15 percent. A new RC402N full-function remote control is standard with the grade lasers and offers an easy to use menu-driven interface. The radio remote operates at a range up to 330 feet (100 meters) and provides the ability to make grade changes and start automatic alignments remotely, which can significantly reduce setup time.

The LL400HV is a long-range exterior laser with a working diameter of 2,600 feet (800 meters). This long range makes it suitable for large construction projects by reducing or eliminating multiple setups. It also has self-leveling vertical capability for alignment applications.

The HV302 is capable of handling a wide variety of horizontal, vertical and plumb applications in both interior and exterior projects. Its high-visibility beam enables simultaneous rotating and 90 degree plumb references and is easy to see even in brightly lit interiors.

With new designs, the lasers set a new standard in ruggedness. Featuring glass lighthouses, the lasers offer an IP66 environmental protection rating, which allows operation in adverse environmental conditions, even heavy rain. With a metal sunshade and tough composite material housing, the lasers can withstand drops of up to 3 feet (1 meter) onto concrete and tripod tip-overs up to 5 feet (1.5 meters), which can result in reduced downtime and lower repair costs. Even in the toughest jobsite conditions, the lasers can consistently deliver reliable, accurate performance to increase overall productivity and cost savings.

All lasers feature simple keypads with arrow buttons for easy grade matching applications. Also available with each laser is a new HL760 Digital Readout Receiver. The receiver allows the advanced functions of Grade Match and PlaneLok with wireless communication between the laser and receiver. Grade Match slopes the laser automatically to match the fall between two elevations and PlaneLok provides maximum stability and accuracy when it automatically locks the beam on the receiver and keeps it on-grade, reducing typical environmental factors that may induce errors.

The HL760 also includes a new “Fingerprint” function—once the receiver is paired with the laser, the HL760 receiver only accepts the “Fingerprint” beam from the laser it is paired with, reducing errors and conflict between teams working in close proximity with other lasers. The HL760 can also be paired with another HL760 for long-range wireless remote display and monitoring.

The new Spectra Precision lasers are expected to be available in mid-February of 2015 through the Spectra Precision Dealer Network.
