Ford says the 40,000-lb. gross combined weight rating of its new 2017 F-350, F-450 and F-550 chassis cab pickup truck is more than any other truck in the class. It allows a fully loaded Super Duty F-Series chassis cab truck and trailer to can carry half of the maximum combined weight rating of a semi-tractor-trailer on most U.S. highways. To move the big loads, Ford increased the ratings of its second-generation 6.7L Power Stroke V8 diesel engine to 330 hp and 750 lb.-ft. of torque – more than any other Class 4 or 5 truck. The all-new frame is made with 95% high-strength steel with eight times more torsional rigidity than the previous frame, through-welded cross members, and fully boxed rails under the cab Super Duty chassis cab.

The 2017 F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty chassis cab lineup features:

  • Gross front-axle weight rating of up to 7,500 lb. – 250 lb. more than the closest competitor
  • Military-grade aluminum-alloy cab improves dent and ding resistance while saving weight
  • Open C-channel frame rails behind the cab enable easy body and vocational equipment upfits
  • Commercial-grade six-speed 6R140 automatic transmission
  • More-robust axles, suspension, driveline and towing hardware
